BOTOX / BOTULINUM TOXIN

What Is Botox / Botulinum Toxin?

Botox/Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and related species. It is a substance injected into the skin which is known to inhibit muscle movement, and that can prevent wrinkles from developing or worsening.

How Does Botox / Botulinum Toxin Work?

In order for any muscle to contract, the nerves release a chemical messenger called acetylcholine at the junction where nerve endings meet muscle cells. Acetylcholine attaches to receptors on the muscle cells and causes the cells to contract, or shorten.

Botox injections prevent the release of acetylcholine, which stops the muscle cells from contracting. In this way, the toxin helps the muscles to become less stiff.

Who Would Benefit From Botox Treatment?

Botox / Botulinum toxin can benefit anyone, both men and women. It is most effective in improving the lines or wrinkles that are due to facial expressions, including frown and forehead lines. These particular lines are usually caused by overactive muscles and this treatment stops the muscles from contracting and causing the wrinkles.

How Long Do Botox / Botulinum Toxin Treatments Last?

Botox / Botulinum toxin lasts 3-4 months. There will certainly be patients in which, it lasts longer than 4-6 months, or maybe shorter. It is also common for first-timers to notice that it may not last as long as initially hoped, however they may last longer after the second treatment.

LIP FILLERS

What Are Lip Fillers / Dermal Fillers?

Lip fillers, also known as dermal fillers contain a natural substance called hyaluronic acid, injected into your lips. They fill lines and wrinkles and add volume to areas such as your lips that can give you fuller, plumper lips.

How Long Do Lip Fillers / Dermal Fillers Last?

Lip fillers are temporary and on average they will last 6-12 months and at most 18 months depending on the type of filler you utilize. The dermal filler is gradually broken down by your body and the level of volume you gained lessens, so you can either have the area ‘topped-up’ to retain the effect or allow the area to gradually return to how it was before treatment.

DERMALPLANING

What Is Dermaplaning?

Advanced Dermaplaning is a cosmetic skin treatment that uses an exfoliating blade on the face, under the chin, and on the sides of the neck to skim dead skin cells and hair from your face.

Advanced Dermaplaning aims to make your skin’s surface smooth, youthful, and radiant. This treatment is aimed at removing deep scarring from acne and uneven pockmarks on your skin. It’s also used to remove “peach fuzz,” the short, soft hairs on your face.

Is Dermaplaning Good For Your Skin?

Advanced Dermaplaning is safe for most people, with little risk of side effects. You may experience redness or feel like you’ve just had a shave in 2-3 days after the treatment which will fade away as the days go by.

CHEEK ENHANCEMENT

What Is Cheek Enhancement?/ Cheek Fillers?

Cheek Enhancement / Cheek Fillers are injections that raise the volume of the area above and around your cheekbones and midface ie under eye area. This provides the illusion of a more defined bone structure. By injecting volume under your skin layer, cheek fillers can also smooth out wrinkles and fine lines.

What Are The Benefits of Cheek Enhancement / Cheek Fillers?

A cheek enhancement using dermal filler can not only restore lost volume giving sunken cheeks a plumper look but also provide contour and definition for the younger patient. As we age fat pads in our mid face and cheeks start to diminish and sink which can give a gaunt and hollow look to the face. By restoring volume in this area we can achieve a more youthful appearance.

How Long Do Cheek Enhancement / Cheek Fillers Last?

Depending on the type of filler you choose, cheek enhancement / fillers can last anywhere from 12-18 months before the results are no longer noticeable. The dermal filler material eventually dissolves and metabolizes into your skin tissue.

JOWL & SMILE LINES

What are Jowl & Smile Lines?

Jowls / Smile Lines refers to sagging skin on the lower part of your face, specifically at the bottom of your cheeks and along your jawline. In some cases, this sagging skin can even hang below your jawline and alter your face’s shape.

What Causes Jowls / Smile Lines?

Collagen and elastin are proteins made within the skin that keep it firm, supple, and the connective tissues strong. As we get older the collagen and elastin reserves in the body deplete as production slows down, leading to volume loss and sagging. When this occurs around the mouth and jawline, it creates the appearance of sagging jawline.

Smoking and overexposure to sunlight can also cause damage to facial collagen and elastin.

They may be genetic or caused by lifestyle choices you make.

We will never endorse an unnatural or overdone appearance and prefer to work with your natural beauty to provide subtle and flawless enhancements, to make you look and feel great.
